Ladybird
For Fans of: Drive by Truckers, Son Volt, Natural Child
"Music for mendin' hearts. Songs for sobbin' and songs for shakin' ass. Tunes that sound like a wedding at a quarter mile racetrack. There's plenty of lonesome soul-searching to be found in the stories told by Ladybird, but it's the contagious camaraderie and compassion that fills the room when the band takes the stage that has established them as not only a local favorite, but a beloved act outside of America's Dairyland as well."

Little Lungs
FFO: Big Thief, Slow Pulp, Wye Oak
Little Lungs has never shied away from vulnerability. The Baltimore-based band, led by principal songwriter and lyricist Leena Rhodes, combines intimate and sincere lyricism with intricate guitar melodies and pulsating rhythms to create a sprawling universe of folk and indie rock. Backed by Brendan Russell (bass), Ricky Schwarzenberg (guitar), Little Lungs actualizes the obscure emotions you can’t quite explain: the innate feeling of absence; the flux of infatuation; the beauty of intoxication. Their new record, The Heat, is streaming everywhere.
Dylan Rockwell
FFO: Tom Petty, Kevin Morby, This is Lorelei
Dylan Rockwell has been fronting bands in the DC scene for over a decade. His debut EP as a solo artist, “False Dawn”, featured reflective tunes accompanied by acoustic guitar, shimmering pedal steel, and an immaculately tasteful rhythm section. The follow up EP “The Window’s Closing (But It Still Lets In The Light)” turned up the distortion a notch (or maybe 5-7 notches). Currently, Dylan is deep in production of a debut full-length record and is playing exclusively those new tunes at shows. Come hear something fresh!
